First edition. 19th-century half black morocco over marbled boards. 7 3/4 x 4 1/2 inches (20 x 12 cm); xvi, [17-224] pp.; with engraved additional title, frontispiece and four plates, without ads. Spine lacking, generally worn with loose boards, occasional foxing.
The first American book on the dog, written by the former editor of the Turf Register.
