George III Mahogany, Satinwood and Tulipwood Part Ebonized Writing/Work Table
Circa 1770, in the Manner of John Cobb or Mayhew & Ince
The three-quarter galleried rectangular top with serpentine front centered by an oval patera and segmented sections separated by husks and inlaid with floral sprigs, the back rising to a silk lined fire screen, above a frieze drawer, raised on cabriole legs ending in inscrolled feet, the back with a pierced serpentine stretcher. Height 26 1/2 inches (67.3 cm), width 26 inches (66 cm), depth 17 inches (43.2 cm).
