Set of Four George III Mahogany Needlework-Upholstered Side Chairs
Circa 1760
Each serpentine cresting carved with oak leaves, acorns and scrolls above a pierced backrest carved with a tasseled swag over an interlaced quatrefoil panel flanked by scrolls, the overupholstered floral needlework seat raised on molded square legs with rope twist corners and joined by a pierced fretwork medial stretcher; bearing inked accession numbers 80.26.4.1-4.4. Height 37 1/2 inches (95.3 cm), width 21 1/2 inches (54.6 cm), depth 17 inches (43.2 cm).
