Italian Walnut and Parcel-Gilt Mirror by Angiolo Barbetti
Circa 1840
The beveled rectangular mirror plate within an elaborately carved surround with a relief-carved frieze decorated with scrolling foliage, animals and military trophies, within leaf- and guilloche-carved bands and a molded egg-and-dart-carved fluted edge, signed ANGIOLO BARBETTI DI SIENA. Height 56 inches (143 cm), width 67 inches (170 cm).
