Louis XVI Mahogany Secretaire/Commode
Late 18th century
The rectangular marble top with outset rounded corners above a case fitted with a secretaire drawer opening to a leather-lined writing surface and drawers, all over two graduated drawers flanked by stop-fluted stiles continuing to tapering feet; the left bottom side of the case fitted with a compartmentalized drawer fronted by a molding. Height 35 3/4 inches (90.9 cm), width 32 1/2 inches (82.5 cm), depth 16 3/4 inches (42.5 cm).

Beautiful quality, unusual feature is an almost imperceptible secret drawer fronted by molding on bottom left side that runs entire width of commode, old marks and scratches, small age cracks to sides, marble top probably original.
