Set of Six Irish George II Mahogany Dining Chairs
Circa 1755
Each serpentine top rail with shell-carved ears above a shaped backsplat with X-form center section carved with ruffles, scrolls and incised decoration, the drop-in seat raised on acanthus- and ruffle-carved cabriole legs ending in pad feet. Height 38 inches (96.5 cm), width 23 inches (58.5 cm), depth 15 inches (38.1 cm).

Fair condition, in need of cosmetic restoration, frames need tightening, abrasions to carving of knees, several brackets lacking, several replaced, one now with white glue, old marks and scratches, scuffs to feet.
