The cartouche: CARY'S NEW CELESTIAL GLOBE, on which are laid down THE WHOLE of the STARS NEBULÆ etc. Contained in the Astronomical Works of the REVD. F. WOLLASTON FRS. De La Caille Herschel Hevelins, Mayer, Flamsteed, Bradley etc., London, Made & Sold by J. & W. Cary Strand, March 1816; with engraved brass hour dial and meridian circle, the mahogany stand on casters. Height 44 inches (111.8 cm).

Restored condition, globe with yellowing varnish, abrasions, scuffs and losses throughout, restoration along equator and with inpainting, horizon ring with inpainting along repaired tears, stand with later varnish, screw to top of one leg, lacking compass, old marks and scratches.
