Pair of Russian Porcelain Vases
Imperial Porcelain Manufactory, St. Petersburg, period of Alexander II (1855-1881)
Baluster form, with gilt and varicolored enamel daisies, vegetation, butterflies and dragonflies on a grey ground, the underside with overglaze gilt mark. Height 6 1/8 inches (15.6 cm.).

A nearly identical pair of porcelain vases by the Imperial Porcelain Manufactory, period of Alexander II, is in the Raymond Piper Collection, Wisconsin. A further pair of porcelain vases, from the same period and with related decoration, was sold Sotheby's, London, May 19, 2005, lot 180.
