James I Sterling Silver-Gilt Steeple Cup and Cover
London, 1616, maker's mark TC with star below, probably Jackson pg 107.
On flaring circular foot with gadrooned band, rising to a knopped baluster stem applied with three scroll brackets, the body and cover chased with shells, foliage and strapwork, the detachable domed cover with warrior finial raised on four scroll brackets. Height 18 3/4 inches (47.5 cm), total approximately 23 ounces.
