Pair of George III Giltwood Open Armchairs
Circa 1775
Each tufted oval backrest within a fluted frame surmounted by a pierced ribbon-carved cresting above an overupholstered tufted seat flanked by padded armrests on downswept supports ending in scrolls, the fluted seat frame raised on ring-turned tapering fluted legs headed by flowerhead-carved roundels. Height 39 inches (99 cm), width 24 inches (61 cm), depth 19 inches (48.3 cm).
