each appears to be in generally good condition; there are some small nicks and dings to the rectangular foot rim edges; the patina is consistent to each bookend; there is a green protective felt pad affixed to the underside of one example; the other green felt on the other example is missing; consequently, the underside of that example is now exposed and the wax or pitch used to fill and weight the bookend is exposed; it is dry and cracking; this bookend now rocks slightly on a surface; patina is slightly dulled in appearance
