appears to be in generally good condition with the exception of a separation break or crack located in the area of the chief's right arm in the elbow area; there are scattered areas with minor paint loss and/or rubbing; there are some losses to the various metal curled elements at the tip ends of some of the feather s on the headdress, perhaps five or so are missing; currently, there are three loose eagle feathers that are tucked into the statue in the area above the round shield in the chief's left hand and below his feathered headdress - it appears they probably originally adorned the feathered shield, however, they must have become detached and they are still present; it appears that the lone eagle feathers located at the far right side of the shield may once have been detached and possibly re-affixed because it is now hanging at an angle whereas the other feathers hang straight down; the stone base appears to be in generally good condition; there is currently a green protective felt cloth affixed to the underside
