Extremities a bit worn, somewhat shaken, one-inch tear to map near mount, foxing throughout; a copy of the revised edition of 1871. Publisher's maroon cloth, spine gilt. 9 1/8 x 5 5/8 inches; 535, 4 pp.; double-page frontispiece, folding map, in-text illustrations, publisher's advertisements. Somewhat shaken, spine toned, extremities a bit frayed, map with two-inch tear near mount, interior somewhat toned with occasional thumbsoiling, bookplate to front pastedown and ownership signature to title page and front free endpaper of E. Buckingham; and A Journey to Ashango-Land, and further penetration into equatorial Africa. New York: Harper & Brothers, 1874. New edition.
