Davenport, Iowa: The Contemporary Club, 1903. First edition. Original printed paper wrappers, preserved in modern clamshell box. 9 1/4 x 6 inches; 59 pp.; illustrated after photographs, half-title. Some toning to wrapper edges, light creasing at upper right corner.
"In this rare little work, Major Evans describes his safari to Kenya wtih Philip Percival as his guide. He bagged rhinoceros near Mt. Kenia, then went on to collect lion, eland, and other game. He also met Martin and Osa Johnson, the latter he describes as a 'bundle of nervous energy'" (Czech). Czech, Africa, p. 92.
