London and Nairobi: Rowland Ward Ltd., 1953. First edition, Bruce G. Kinloch's copy. Publisher's blue cloth gilt. 10 7/8 x 8 3/8 inches; 150 pp.; one double-page plate. Spine a bit rubbed, extremities bumped, foxing throughout, upper corner of text block slightly crimped, ownership inscription to front free endpaper.
Wildlife conservation leader and author Bruce G. Kinloch's copy, with his signature. At various times he served as Chief Game Warden for the Uganda Game and Fisheries Department, for Tanganyika, and for Malawi. Uncommon in the trade, and a nice Rowland Ward desideratum. Other contributors include W. Barker, C. H. Stockley, C. R. S. Pitman, P. B. Offermann, G. G. Rushby, and William Gowers.
