Publisher's cloth in dust jacket. 9 5/8 x 7 1/4 inches; xiv, 234, [6] pp.; frontispiece, in-text illustrations, half-title, publisher's advertisements. Jacket with some surface soiling and minor edgewear, cloth a bit stained and rippled, light foxing to endpapers and fore-edge.
Uncommon in dust jacket. "Lyell provide [sic] rules for hunting big game, as well as chapters dealing with rifle selection and tracking game. The remainder of the text examines the natural history, traits and methods of hunting, species by species. The illustrations consist of sketches of the spoor of game animals, many being life sized.
