Inscribed to Mr. and Mrs. Norman Prentice below frontispiece portrait. "With J. Pitcairne Holmes as his professional hunter, Silbermann left the comforts of home in England to stalk big game in the bush country of southeast Kenya. In test firing his .450 Westley Richards, both barrels went off at once and the author had to have repairs done before starting his safari. He bagged buffalo, rhinoceros, lion, topi and waterbuck--the rhino encounter particularly hair raising" (Czech). Czech, Africa, pp. 256-257.
