Publisher's green pictorial cloth gilt. 6 7/8 x 4 5/8 inches; 262, 16 pp.; folding map, frontispiece and plates with tissue guards, publisher's advertisements. Extremities a bit worn, some rippling and darkening to cloth, foxing to map and tissue guards.
"Young embarked on an expedition to find Dr. David Livingstone after reports had surfaced that the good doctor had been murdered in Africa. Accompanied by Henry Faulkner..., Young traveled to the Zambesi River region only to find the reports to be false. There are several big game hunting encounters described in his narrative including sport after elephants, hippos, and crocodiles, as well as antelopes. The plates are particularly interesting" (Czech). Czech, Africa, p. 308.
