Publisher's black pictorial cloth gilt, in dust jacket. 8 3/4 x 5 1/2 inches; xvi, 340, 8 pp.; frontispiece, plates, in-text illustrations, half-title. Jacket with some minor losses to extremities and light sunning to spine, cloth extremities bumped, hinges overextended but holding, text block lightly and evenly toned throughout, presentation bookplate to front pastedown.
In scarce dust jacket. With bookplate that reads, "Presented to the Captain / and Officers of / H.M.S. Southampton [in manuscript] / On this Second War-Christmas / of 1915 / By the Author / [printed signature]". Czech, Africa, pp. 59-60.
