The hinged top with outset rounded corners opening to a surface inlaid for chess and backgammon, further opening to a leather-lined surface with counter wells and candle recesses, further opening to a well fitted for inkwells, a sander and a pen recess, raised on lappet-carved circular legs ending in pad feet. Height 29 1/2 inches (75 cm), width 32 1/4 inches (81.9 cm), depth 16 inches (40.7 cm).
