Louis XV Walnut Commode attributed to Jean-François Hache
Third quarter 18th century
The shaped rectangular top with molded edge above two conforming long drawers and raised on four cabriole legs ending in pastille-form feet. Height 33 3/4 inches (85.8 cm), width 51 1/2 inches (130.8 cm), depth 24 3/4 inches (62.8 cm).

Jean-François Hache (1730-1796), Grenoble, maître in 1754, of the well known Hache family of cabinet makers, which included his grandfather, Thomas (1664-1747) and father, Pierre (1703-1776).

Good restored condition, age crack to right side of top, age cracks to case sides, shims to backs of side panels, right stile with repaired break to bottom half at juncture of panel, both back feet spliced.
