Louis XV Tulipwood and Kingwood Marquetry and Ormolu-Mounted Commode à Vantaux by Jean-Baptiste Hédouin
Mid-18th Century
The shaped molded brèche d'Alep marble top above a frieze drawer and a pair of doors opening to a shelved interior, the angles headed by rocaille and foliate scroll clasps, on cabriole legs and sabots, all four corners stamped HEDOUIN, each back stile also stamped. Height 34 inches (86.4 cm), width 43 inches (109.3 cm), depth 21 inches (53.3 cm).
