Tiffany Studios Bronze and Leaded Glass Parasol Library Lamp

Shade: appears to be in generally very good condition; it is actually difficult to find any glass segments that have hairline cracks; the mottled green and opalescent glass segments appears to be of very good quality and color; there are a few small extremely thin and short openings between the glass and leading at the top center (fitter rim) area of the shade that allows light to be illuminated through these sliver openings - these are very small and not of great consequence but are mentioned for the purpose of accuracy - they are located in the top uppermost area area of the shade (near inner ring mount) where the glass segments are the smallest; there is some irregularity to the leading in this area that suggests there may have been an old repair to this area, which is now not immediately visible or apparent because there is also a fair amount of old crusty dirt residue and soiling to this area, notably, on the underside; once the residue is removed and the area cleaned (if desired) the actual situation would be revealed; shade appears to be "in-the-round;" the present shade may be an early example of this model

Base: this model base is more often found on lamps with a "Lotus" model shade that are more shallow and therefore have smaller sockets that accommodate smaller lily-type bulbs; by contrast, the present base has six light sockets that are larger and accommodate larger bulbs, which is perfectly fine with this model (Parasol) shade because it is deeper; each socket has a dark plastic/bakelite type G.E. on/off switch; the sockets, switches, metal on/off switch on the lamp base, and the wiring and plug were not tested; the patina appears to be somewhat dirty and might benefit from a gentle cleaning or waxing; the wear and rubbing to the patina is consistent with its age and prior handling; the greatest wear and rubbing is perhaps occuring on the shaft; three small screws at the top of the shaft are missing but the absence does not appear to be of any consequence; the lamp is currently wired

Heat Cap: appears to be an original Tiffany Studios heat cap, however, it appears to be a variation of the more typically found cap found on this lamp model, which is instead pierced and has an upright short stem at its center; there is typical wear and rubbing to the patina, consistent with age and handling; fits well with the shade and base
