NEW YORK, NY -- Doyle held the successful auction of property from the Collection of best-selling author Dorothea Benton Frank on September 16, 2020. A native of Sullivan’s Island, South Carolina, and longtime resident of Montclair, New Jersey, Ms. Frank was the author of twenty popular novels inspired by her Southern roots.

This landmark auction featured property from her Montclair home decorated by New York interior designer Thomas Britt. Among the highlights were elegant furniture, decorations and artwork, as well as memorabilia related to her successful career as an author.

With competitive bidding from fans of Dorothea Benton Frank across the country and abroad, the sale totaled a stunning $209,881, far surpassing the pre-sale estimate of $88,175-136,435 with an exceptional 97% sold by lot and $100% by value.
