The Friends' Westtown Boarding School opened in Chester County, Pennsylvania, on May 6, 1799. This Quaker school placed an emphasis on Quaker culture and needlework. Sarah Taylor was from East Bradford, PA and a student at Westtown in 1804. The daughter of Benjamin and Ann (Edge) Taylor, she married Ezra Cope in 1807. They settled on the southern portion of Benjamin Taylor's farm. Her three children were Amy H., Edge T., and Nathan Cope; and she died in 1814.
