appears to be in generally good condition; may originally have had a removable insert or cover (now possibly missing); typical wear and dulling to the gilding; wear and dulling to the black patinated area of the tray base portion; there is a slight rocking motion when the centerpiece is gently pushed (feet need to be slightly repositioned or padded with felt or cork riser, etc.); two sides of the flat tray portion of the base are now partially detached along their outer metal edges and are slightly dropping below the border edge; no apparent maker's mark
