Lot Details

Lot 156
GRAHAME, KENNETH The Wind in the Willows.
London: Methuen and Co., 1908. First edition. Publisher's blue-green cloth with design of Pan on the upper cover, housed in a chemise and morocco-backed slipcase. 7 1/2 x 4 3/4 inches (19 x 12 cm); vi, 302 pp.; frontispiece by Graham Robertson. Light wear to extremities, but generally a clean, sound copy, the text bright.
An attractive copy of the first edition of this classic of children's literature (eminently readable by adults, as well)! The book ran to a second edition the same month of the first, and went on to achieve a measure of popularity that far exceeded that of his other books, and which has endured to the present day.
