Richmond: 2 July 1789. Two-page autograph letter signed "JMarshall" on the recto and verso of one sheet of watermarked laid paper, 7 1/4 x 6 inches (18.5 x 15.25 cm), a few discreet mends, a few spots at head, fine overall.
A scarce early letter from the longest serving Supreme Court Chief Justice, here writing as a young lawyer about the continuation of a case once an executor is named in an estate.
