MONROE, JAMES Document signed as President.
Washington: 23 September 1823. One page document signed "James Monroe", approximately 9 x 7 3/4 inches (22.5 x 20 cm); framed with a portrait. Toned but otherwise visibly fine with some show through of docketting on verso, unexamined out of frame.
Monroe here approves advances made to five officers, each of whom has been ordered to the West Indies, including Commodore John Rodgers (1772-1838).
