TRUMAN, HARRY-FOOTBALL Photograph inscribed to photographer Cecil Stoughton.
[Washington:] 14 April 1946. Black and white photograph depicting Truman in formal dress and top hat, inscribed below the image "To Cecil Stoughton/Harry Truman/Gridiron Dinner 4/13/46/Geo. Allen in rear." 8 x 10 inches (20 x 25 cm). Some rippling and one crease to extremities, the text and signature slightly smudged, would benefit from framing.
A fine portrait of a jovial Truman inscribed to Cecil Stoughton, later John Kennedy's White House photographer. Truman stands before the hall of fame football coach George Allen as the two attend the annual dinner for journalists at the Gridiron Club in Washington, D.C.
