London: Sir Richard Phillips, 1821. Modern blue leather-backed cloth. 8 1/2 x 5 1/4 inches (21.5 x 13 cm); 102 pp., folding map. Tear to the map at the stub with tape restorations on verso, minor fraying to the left margin, the text generally clean.
An interesting work of Texas interest that includes a small description of the lead mining operation in Missouri Moses Austin ran before developing the plan for his settlement in Texas. "This constitutes a part of this author's A View of the Lead Mines . . . but was not included in that work as published." (Howes). The map shows a portion of Texas as far west and south as San Antonio. Howes S185. Sabin 77858.
