[YUKON-HUNTING] BANNON, ARTHUR H. A Hunters Summer in Yukon Territory.
Columbus, Ohio: F.B. Toothaker, 1911. First edition. Publisher's printed wrappers, cloth spine. 7 1/2 x 5 1/4 inches (9.3 x 13.5 cm); 48 pp.; with 8 plates from photographs. Wraps rubbed and a trifle soiled, corners worn, some very minor foxing and staining.
A rare account of a hunting trip to northwest Canada. Streeter notes that "This is a plain, straightforward and most interesting account of a hunting trip, mainly for mountain sheep, in Yukon Territory in the summer of 1910. Bannon went in over the White Pass and Yukon Railway, down the Lewis to Selkirk at the beginning of the Yukon proper, up the Pelly River to the mouth of the Macmillan, and up that river to country about 275 miles east of Selkirk. He gives a good picture of the country through which he passed and his hunting experiences are quite absorbing." Streeter 4126. Streeter's copy was in cloth, but the present binding appears to be that usually found.
