The signature A. Descubes is probably that of Alexandre Descubes (circa 1850-1920), a Mauritian cartographer and botanical artist apparently of French colonial descent, who worked in British India.

Additional Notes & Condition Report

Not all examined out of frame. The sheets are mounted in the corners, some with stains from adhesive showing through paper. Paper is toned in most of the works; some of the works have scattered spots of foxing; a few with small tears at the extreme edges. Some with relatively light creases and some where paper is rippling slightly. A few works laid to secondary sheet.
