"Alice Hawthorn" was the winner of forty-seven and a half races, including seventeen Cups and eighteen Queen's Plates. "Foig-a-Ballagh" was foaled in Ireland in 1841. He won the Grand Duke Michael Stakes and the Cesarewitch, and was the first Irish bred horse to win the St. Leger Stakes.

(i) fine scattered craquelure; wax reline; scattered tiny spots of inpainting in the sky; few spots in the horse; scattered inpainting along the edges; nickel-sized spot at lower center; several spots at far lower right.

(ii) Wax lined; fine scattered craquelure; tiny spots of inpainting throughout the sky and in the foreground. Could not detect restoration in the horse or jockey.
