Russian Silver-Gilt Icon of the Mother of God of Kazan
Maker's mark indistinct, apparently no town or date mark, probably late 18th century
Rectangular, the figures realistically depicted, the oklad with elaborately repoussé and chased vestments and border with vases and flowers and scrolling foliage, with applied halos set with paste stones.
Height 12 1/2 inches (31.75 cm.), width 11 inches (28 cm.).

In generally good condition, consistent with age. The oklad with wear to surface, halos and edges bent in areas. The painted panel with surface wear/dirt and craquelure. The panel warped.
