Spanish White Ground Faience Jug
18th/19th Century
Of typical form with a strap handle, height 7 1/2 inches; Together with a Tuscan Floral Decorated Maiolica Albarello Jar, height 5 1/2 inches; a Venetian Albarello Jar, of cylindrical form with a waisted body, decorated with cobalt colored foliate motifs against a dark turquoise ground and labeled DIA GRIDIO, height 5 1/2 inches; and a French Pale Green Glazed Cup, of bulbous form, with a textured body.

Spanish Jug: large, poorly repaired area of upper rim at one side; extensive crazing to interior glaze; also crazing to the exterior side, notably to the handle and lower part of the body; chip losses to the side rim edges of the handle; fairly extensive glaze loss along the top rim edge, consistent with age, usage and handling; soiled interior; burst air bubbles to the surface; chip losses to the bottom edge; etc.; there is a paper label affixed to the underside; not blacklighted

Tuscan Jar: flake losses to painted surface and decoration; glaze losses to the upper rim area; hairline crack seemingly originating at the bottom rim edge and extending upwards approximately 1 1/2 inches; some evidence of overpaint and restoration; interior somewhat soiled, etc., consistent with age and usage; paper label affixed to the underside with scotch tape; not blacklighted

Albarello Jar (Blue): chips and glaze losses; badly corroded interior, all consistent with age and usage; there is a short discolored hairline at the top rim edge; evidence of an old fracture or manufacturing flaw to the side of the jar; old labels affixed to the underside with scotch tape; not blacklighted

French Cup: rim chips and nicks; staining, notably on the interior side of the upper rim edge; discolored hairline visible on the bottom of the cup; not blacklighted; old labels affixed to the underside with scotch tape
