Scandinavian Carved Mahogany Box

Carved allover with stylized roundel decoration, the interior of the hinged lid centered by a zigzag- and swag-carved frame, probably once fitted for a mirror, the top right side once fitted with a till. Height 5 inches (12.7 cm), width 11 3/4 inches (29.8 cm), depth 7 1/2 inches (19 cm).

Nice quality, later hinges, top slightly warped, missing moldings to sides of underside of lid, top sunfaded, losses to finish of lid at top of roundel, age cracks to lid, iinterior formerly with a well, front with marks and scratches, age crack above keyhole.
