English Porcelain Salmon-Ground Punch Bowl
Circa 1810, attributed to Worcester (Barr, Flight & Barr), the underside painted brown
The interior finely painted en grisaille with a hunt scene depicting five men on horseback with hounds and a fox in full chase in a rugged forested river landscape, the broad border enriched in gilt with trophy medallions among rinceaux scrollwork, the exterior with two similar gilt framed panels of hunt scenes, the reserves gilt with cornucopia among shells and foliage, the high foot with a wide gilt band.
Height 6 3/4 inches, diameter 14 1/4 inches.
The hunting scenes possibly adapted from a series printed by Thomas Burford after James Seymour (1702-1752).
