Contemporary quarter cloth, drab paper over boards, leather spine label. 8.75 x 5.5 (22.5 x 14 cm). viii (first leaf blank), 164 pp.; 4 aquatint plates and 5 engraved plates after J. Bridgman; errata slip. Light wear, front hinge cracked but the binding is sound; light offsetting from plates, occasional pale spotting to contents, otherwise clean and bright; heraldic bookplate of James Frampton.
A room-by-room descriptive catalogue of "every object worthy of... notice," mostly old master and British paintings, in Knole House. The book also includes a history of Knole and the Sackville Family, as well as a brief biography of George Sackville (1793-1815), the Duke of Dorset.
