Parma: Ex Regio Typographeio (i.e. Giambattista Bodoni), n.d. (but 1785 from colophon). Period marbled boards. 12 x 9 inches (31 x 23 cm); [vi], [i]-xciv, 100, [2] pp.; printed in Greek and Roman types. Boards with an old rebacking of marbled paper, worn and a bit soiled; internally some occasional minor foxing, but generally a fairly clean, uncut copy.
Bodoni's first edition (of two that he produced), of Anacreon's lyric poems, is edited by G.C. Amaduzzi. It is dedicated to José Nicolás de Azara, the Spanish ambassador to Rome (who had attempted to hire Bodoni away from Duke Ferdinand of Parma, Bodoni's patron). Brooks 287.
