FROST, ROBERT North of Boston.
London: David Nutt, 1914. First edition, stated, second issue (with "Printed in Great Britain" ink-stamped on title verso), one of 200 in the sixth binding state (one of two binding states done for the Dunster House Bookshop in 1923). Pale green coarse-grain cloth stamped in gilt with title and author, with blind rules at head and foot of the front cover, a close imitation of the first binding state (which had a rule on all edges). 7 5/8 x 5 3/4 inches (19.5 x 14.25 cm); ix, [1], 11-143, [1] pp. Spine very slightly toned, offsetting from adhesive to endpaper, in all a near-fine copy.
This is Frost's third-published work (after the unprocurable Twilight, issued in two copies). Upon Nutt's bankruptcy, Simpkin Marshall obtained the original sheets and issued some copies; the balance of these then passed to the Dunster House Bookshop in Cambridge, Mass., who issued them in two bindings states. Crane A3, binding F.
