Two volumes, 19th-century purple straight-grain morocco tooled in gilt and blind, housed in a modern cloth slipcase. 12 5/8 x 9 3/8 inches (32 x 23.5 cm); xiv, [1], 306; [iv], 239, [11] pp.; additional hand-colored engraved half-titles, 40 hand-colored aquatint plates by Howitt. Some wear to bindings, spines rather dry, heads of spines a bit worn, internally scattered foxing, offsetting from plates, but in general a sound and quite attractive copy.
