French Sycamore Center Table
In the manner of André Arbus, circa 1940s
The segmentally veneered circular top on sphere and tapering square legs joined by a tripartite plinth, raised on tapering splayed feet; underside of top with stamped and penciled number '36143' and red crayon 'INV. 5888', underside of plinth with penciled inscriptions '36143' and 'Inv. 5888'. Height 27 1/2 inches (69.8 cm), diameter 31 1/2 inches (80 cm).

An almost identical table was sold, Sotheby's, New York, December 13, 2005, lot 529. Possibly the table offered here.

Overall good condition, old marks and scratches, lifting to veneers of underside and stamped number slightly obliterated, scuffs to edges of top, plinth and feet, some staining to sides of feet.
