Gerald Benney, London, 1973, enamel by Robert Vidal Winter
Rectangular with textured bark-effect finish, the hinged cover with blue enamel on rayed ground and applied Royal cipher for Queen Elizabeth II opening to a suede interior. Length 3 3/4 inches (9.5 cm).

Mr. William Codus

William Codus (1928-2020) served in the State Department under the Nixon Presidency and was heavily involved in Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's State Visit to the United States for the Bicentennial celebrations in 1976 as Assistant Chief of Protocol.

This lot is accompanied by the full program of the State Visit used July 6-11, 1976 which onlines in detail the events, dignitaries and guests met throughout the visit.
