New York: Charles L. Webster, 1894. First edition. Publisher's pictorial cloth lettered in gilt and stamped in orange, housed in a red morocco backed slipcase. 8 x 6 inches; 219, [4] pp. ads, illustrations by Dan Beard. The cloth with a few spots and lightly toned but generally a very fine copy, the rear hinge cracked at end of text, with the bookplate of Mitchell Harrison, booklabel of Walter Chrysler and the booklabel of William Safire.
A distinguished copy, with the booklabel of Walter Chrysler. BAL's binding state 'A' with approx 5 5/8" between Twain and Webster on spine (no priority). This copy with the blank flyleaf at rear not found in all copies. BAL 3440.
