London: Newnes, 1902. First edition, first issue, with "you" instead of "your' on page 13, line 3. Publisher's red cloth, front cover stamped and lettered in gilt with a black vignette of the hound, spine gilt, plain endpaper. 7 1/8 x 4 5/8 inches (18 x 11.5 cm); [viii], 359 pp., with frontispiece and 15 plates by Sidney Paget. Repair to the rear joint which has split, slight lean, the front cover with a vertical black stain.
