Mintons Majolica Aesthetic Movement Brown and Green Ground Oval Cheese Dish and Cover on Integral Stand

Impressed uppercase mark, black painted 4 to base and cover, recorded as shape 620 by V.B., the design often attributed to Christopher Dresser
Modeled as a round of cheese being devoured by four mice, the knop as a mouse nibbling, the surface molded with scattered stalks of wheat, the integral emerald-green stand with Chinoiserie floral reserves. Width of stand 10 inches.
