Rectangular, with rounded ends, the cover centering a mother of pearl cartouche, bordered by faceted metal beads, with a metal push-piece; Together with a Gilt-Metal Mounted Hardstone Octagonal Covered Box. Height of birch box 1 1/4 inches, width 3 3/4 inches, depth 6 1/8 inches.

Wood box: 1-inch loss to veneer to front of base; cracks and small losses to veneer along lower edge of base; losses to escutcheon; surface scratches.
Hardstone box: Y-shaped crack to right side of cover with some losses; hairline crack to right side of base, running part way up right side.
