New York: Harper & Brothers, [1961]. Inaugural edition presented to Henry Ford II and signed secretarially for Kennedy. Original blue leather gilt, the cover stamped with the presidential seal in gilt and the spine gilt lettered. 8 1/2 x 6 inches. Rubbed areas on spine and joint, without original box, else fine.
A rare presentation edition of the book originally published in 1956 that largely introduced the country to John F. Kennedy, soon to be a candidate for president. This edition was presented to Henry Ford II from The White House "In Recognition of his friendship and generous support to the democratic cause."
