Publisher's dark green cloth with gilt titling and a vignette of a leaping tiger in silver. 9 1/2 x 6 1/2 inches (25 x 16 cm); xx, 262 pp.; frontispiece, 20 plates, with illustrations in text. Light wear, upper fore-corner of front board bumped, offsetting to endpapers, but a pretty copy for all that.
"An excellent work detailing the hunting of bear, panther, bison, tiger, elephant, various deer species, antelope, and ibex, mostly in the Madras state. There is also helpful advice in regards to travel, camping, and even how to prepare for the monsoon season." Czech Asia p. 163-4.
